The Opportunity:  At Mattel, our Human Resources team brings our company values, Collaboration, Innovation and Execution, to life to transform the way people work, play, think, feel and create. Mattel is seeking a progressive Human Resources Associate Manager who will translate Mattel's HR strategy into locally relevant plans to attract, develop, advance, and engage employees supporting the Global Law Department and Corporate Communication & Philanthropy organizations.  This role will be a primary partner to these client groups including up to SVP level and will collaborate with the Sr HR Director on HR strategy and be responsible for execution.  The HRBP will collaborate with Mattel's HR centers of excellence to help shape programs and initiatives supporting employees in a purpose centered workplace, globally.  This role is based in El Segundo, CA with a hybrid, flexible schedule and will report into the Sr HR Director - Corporate Functions.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

Drive Organizational Performance:

  • Partner with business leaders to build high functioning and performing teams, driving towards business goals and results.
  • Provide proactive and effective coaching to leaders on performance management, organization design, and staffing opportunities, driving overall organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner with business leaders to strategically assess business needs and remove barriers by delivering people strategy and solutions.
  • Coach leaders to manage and maximize the skills/capabilities of their team members to create an environment of empowerment and accountability..
  • Work with people managers to focus on internal mobility and career paths for employees; partner with business leaders to support career development initiatives including the Attorney and Paralegal Career Matrices.
  • Manage employee relations including ensuring proper investigations, documentation, and alignment with HR Employee Relations and Legal.
  • Create and lead shared resources, operating model, and communications for reoccurring end-to-end HR processes across entire Corporate Functions portfolio (Legal, Corp Comms/Philanthropy, HR, Finance, Global Technology Org.

Inform, Engage and Accelerate Change:

  • Maintain awareness of emerging trends and best practices to ensure alignment of the people strategy to the business objective.
  • Utilize data and insights to drive decision making and proactively solve for trends.
  • Drive process improvements in end-to-end, recurring HR and Talent processes across Corporate Functions portfolio​​​​​​​​​.

Reshape Baseline Organization:

  • Design and build organization structures and processes that align with strategic growth priorities and transformation initiatives.
  • Implement Growth Mindset as part of business transformation and to drive sustainable business growth.

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Bachelor's degree in related field with 5+ years of experience with 4 years of experience in HR preferred or Master's degree with 2+ years of experience in HR
  • Previous HR business partner experience preferred 
  • Comprehensive organizational development and change management experience
  • Experience implementing programs in workforce planning, talent management, compensation, employee relations, training & development, and legal/compliance
  • Knowledge of HR legal practices and employee relations skills including experience conducting end-to-end HR investigations
  • Ability to build and facilitate trusted business partnerships across multiple functional groups
  • Thrives in a consumer facing, global, matrix working environment
  • Data driven, organizational, and problem-solving capability
