Mattel, Inc. is seeking an experienced and self motivated Sr. Product Designer to join its Games design team. The group is focused on creating new product opportunities for the Games division. Are you a tabletop Game Designer with an interest in technology and constantly dream of ways to combine them? Are you a Video Game Designer with an interest in making physical games and engineering social interactions? We’re looking for someone to help bridge the gap between physical and digital. The primary work will be designing physical games, so passion for tabletop games is a must, but we’re also looking for someone with an understanding and interest in technology and developing ways to marry the two.
What Your Impact Will Be:
Actively generate new opportunities to enhance the brand
Execute on both Product Designs and Digital Designs
Design and develop physical table top games
Builds consensus between members throughout the design process
Partner with Development Design, Engineering, Packaging and Cost Engineering to insure product integrity and marketing objectives
Daily communication with Asia partners
Successfully present and communicate their concepts to the design and marketing management and creative departments
Manage all the phases of design and development with other disciplines within the company
What We’re Looking For:
4+ years of game design/development experience
Must be proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and 2D computer programs
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Adobe Creative Suite proficiency
Knowledge of 3D CAD (Alias, Rhino 3D is a plus)
Knowledge of material and manufacturing process
Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
Ability to project manage
Ideal candidate will exhibit interest and knowledge of the current trends. Understanding of features and play patterns in the toy industry is a plus.
Portfolio demonstrating strong design excellence and superior problem solving
Loves new technology
Interest in digital gaming and development
Prior experience designing video games/digital apps
