The Team:

This role sits within the Enterprise Project Management team which is accountable for end to end delivery of large scale ‘big ticket’ strategic Technology programs. You’ll be joining a truly global team that’s responsible for delivering the Enterprise wide Tech solutions and capabilities needed to build the Mattel of tomorrow!

The Opportunity: 

We’re looking for a seasoned program management expert with strong organizational change, communication skills, and expertise within digital transformation and global technology. You’ll need substantial, demonstrated experience in an agile and program model structure. This role requires an individual who’s strong at building relationships across functions to align strategies and drive execution, so you’ll be a strategic problem solver with an ability to prioritize multiple and competing priorities while driving a plan to execution. 

You’ll be accountable for supporting and implementing Enterprise Programs in the Digital and Enterprise Data Management portfolios by working with multiple stakeholders across various divisions, teams, and subsidiaries. Specific tasks on each project will include developing project plans and schedules, managing tasks and teams, identifying and resolving project management issues, communicating status, including spend, and authoring functional requirements. You’ll be proactive in managing issues, risks and follow change management.  It is essential that the Senior Project Manager understands the scope and effect of all new or upgraded processes, solicits input from all constituents, and involves all appropriate teams. Project Management works closely with every key stakeholder of the program and with every part of the organization.

You’ll be accountable for all the program execution, delivery on cost and schedule commitments, and technical management of products from the development, integration, test and delivery of a collection of activities for Global Programs and will be located in the EMEA marketing.  We’ll rely on you to own, and facilitate status reporting, risk and issue tracking, stakeholder management, technical trade-off discussions, and process definition across the various technology teams including software engineering, product development and technology services.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Challenge the status quo, asks appropriate questions to determine root cause of issues, and negotiate solutions, timelines, and mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholder teams to define deliverables, roadmaps, and accompanying documentation for projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and reports on projects, metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, manage risk, issues, and escalations; create mitigation plans; and balance business needs with technical constraints.
  • Delivery of projects end-to-end.
  • Author, build, manage the Charter, Raci, Project Plan / Sprint Schedules, Roadmaps, Resource plans, Governance structure/ communications, status updates, and project budget/ financials.
  • Coordinate design/implementation efforts between internal teams and partners to develop optimal solutions.
  • Make the appropriate trade-offs to optimize release schedules, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional, local, and remote project teams.
  • Facilitate technical discussions between SMEs and Product Managers.
  • Dive deep to understand business needs of stakeholders and identify opportunities to enhance or resolve them through feedback loop with the customer.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and customers and draft cross-functional communications.
  • Enable Organization Change Management for strategic, global programs.
  • Responsible for scope control with stakeholders, task execution with the development team and relevant upward communication to managers
  • Helps define process improvements and feedback for large, multi-part projects that need creative project management strategies required for timely execution
  • Identifies and gathers assets required for development of each project following Mattel’s IT Operating Model
  • Provide necessary feedback to project stakeholders (e.g., specification feedback, issue escalation to managers or scope changes/clarifications to project resources)
  • Manage handoffs at each stage in the project life cycle according to guidelines specified in the department’s development policies
  • Provide real time updates of relevant project information in the project information database
  • Manage complex multi-year program financials including analysis of actuals, accruals, forecast and estimate at complete

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professioanl experience
  • Seasoned IT project management experience in ERP/Solution delivery (Oracle and Salesforce preferred)
  • Strong understanding of SDLC
  • Experience in managing complex IT software programs with multi-year budgets ($3-10M+)
  • PMP, Scrum Master, Scaled Agile Certification advantageous
  • Ability to work and interact with a globally distributed/matrixed team
  • Prior experience in leading outsourced vendor teams 
  • Successful track record working with business and technology teams to define, develop, test, and launch new products and new programs (must be able to present specific examples where your role required the ability work between technical and management teams)
  • Experience authoring business and technical requirements and specifications (i.e., data dictionary, process flows, architectural diagrams, etc.)
  • Innate capability to create order out of chaos
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think out of the box and generate creative solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both business people and software engineers
  • Desire to work in fast-paced, multi-task, fluid environment capable of reacting instantly to changes in a competitive business environment
  • Ability to plan, organize and proctor efficient meetings through preparation, stakeholder buy in, and guide a group towards agreed upon objectives
  • Fluency in English
