In this position, located in Bucharest (Romania), you will be part of the Balkans sales team and together you will execute Mattel E-commerce sales and activation strategy in Romania. Through engagement and consultation with internal and external stakeholders, work directly with key retail partners to drive sales-in and sales-out, you will enhance proposition for the channel and improve consumer shopping experience across the brand portfolio.

Your primary responsibilities are to:

Together with Balkans Sales lead, develop Mattel E-com channelin Romania and execute with excellence.

  • Using market knowledge of ‘best-in-class’ activation, together with E-com lead, partner with the Marketing and Digital teams to develop an insight-led strategy for the channel, aligned with Brands objectives. The strategy should include the full scope of opportunities on the market and practical solutions to capture these opportunities.
  • Deliver progressive plan for the channel and secure gross sales targets for the key customers:
  • Build first-class relationships with internal and external stakeholders to successfully coordinate and lead the execution of E-com Strategy
  • Create relevant eRetail listings and activation plan for the customers, based on shopper insights and according to brand opportunities, customer’s profile, and commercial priorities of Mattel
  • ROARing fundamentals set-up: in close collaboration with eMerchandising team, ensure all relevant assets (product titles, SEO copy, keywords images, videos, etc.) are correctly localized for the e-com channel and available on time to be delivered to Retailers
  • Lead forecasting process for E-commerce, ensure timely and correct submission to the product source to secure in-time / in-full delivery
  • Stay on top of commercial KPIs: effectiveness of operations, cost to serve, margin contribution and profitability of the customers
  • Monitor payment discipline of the customers and negotiate settlements of outstanding debts where necessary
  • Champion the customer experience, ensure, that Mattel Brands are delivering a ‘best-in-class’ experience in E-com channel 
  • Constantly look for new business opportunities for Mattel: based on insights, consistently optimize range of products, digital media application and SEO / SEM activities to improve Mattel footprint in the channel

Position Mattel as a thought-leader and strategic growth partner with key retail partners:

  • Work closely with our retail partners, leveraging insights to maximise sales and retention of shoppers
  • Plan and coordinate cross-functionally specific action to ensure high velocity of Mattel brands according to brand priorities and 
  • Two-way sharing with Mattel Regional cross-functional team to ensure implementation of insights, learnings and best practices

Keep abreast of industry trends and connect these insights to opportunities to drive sales performance


  • Qualified in Commerce, Sales, Marketing, or other business-related disciplines (highly regarded).
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a similar role
  • Exceptional project management and problem-solving skills
  • Highly knowledgeable in shopper insights and how to use them most effectively to drive sales
  • Willingness to work ‘hands-on’
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Lateral thinking and the ability to continuously move a project forward
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong planning skills, whilst being flexible enough to adapt to changes in circumstance
  • Native Romanian and fluent in English language skills
