The Opportunity:

Mattel is seeking an accomplished and execution-driven Sr. Director, Order Management, DTC & Logistics technology to own and elevate the supply chain technology backbone connecting how Mattel takes, fulfills, and delivers orders to consumers and partners worldwide. This is a senior leadership role with end-to-end accountability for Order Management, Logistics, and Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Supply Chain technology — spanning order orchestration, distribution, fulfillment, transportation, and last-mile execution.

The successful candidate will be a strategic partner to the VP of Global Supply Chain IT, translating enterprise supply chain priorities into a coherent, AI-enabled technology agenda. This leader will combine deep domain expertise with modern technology and product leadership to build scalable, resilient, and intelligent capabilities — and will be expected to operate with the judgment, executive presence, and organizational influence of a senior leader capable of representing the function in front of CTO- and CSCO-level stakeholders.

This role carries broadened scope that consolidates Order Management ownership with Logistics and DTC technology leadership, positions the leader as a key architect of Mattel's order-to-delivery roadmap, and is a critical step in the succession and growth path toward broader supply chain technology leadership.

The role manages a globally distributed organization — a core team based in El Segundo, CA, an offshore Global Capability Center (MTIC) in India, and a portfolio of strategic technology partners and vendors — and is accountable for ensuring these groups operate as a single, high-performing extended team.

What Your Impact Will Be:

Order Management & Supply Chain Technology Strategy

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle of Order Management technology — order capture, orchestration, allocation, and exception management — across DTC, wholesale, and partner channels.
  • Define and execute a multi-year technology roadmap for Order Management, Logistics, and DTC Supply Chain that is fully aligned to enterprise priorities, growth objectives, and the broader Supply Chain 2.0 vision.
  • Serve as a recognized thought leader in modern supply chain technology, driving innovation across order management, warehouse management, transportation, and fulfillment systems.
  • Champion the adoption of cloud-native architectures, unified data platforms, and AI/agentic capabilities that enable real-time order visibility, predictive exception handling, and end-to-end resilience.

Domain Partnership & Execution

  • Act as the primary technology partner to Distribution Center leaders, Logistics operations, Customer Service, and DTC business teams — translating operational challenges into scalable, sustainable technology solutions.
  • Drive end-to-end delivery of initiatives spanning order management, warehouse operations, inventory visibility, fulfillment, and transportation, ensuring tight alignment between business outcomes and technical execution.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and continuous improvement of mission-critical, revenue-impacting systems that power Mattel's order-to-delivery experience.
  • Establish clear governance, KPIs, and escalation paths for order management and fulfillment systems, with proactive risk identification across fragmented or legacy platforms.

Cross-Functional & Executive Influence

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Operations, Finance, Customer Service, and external partners/vendors to ensure alignment and successful execution of order management and logistics initiatives.
  • Influence enterprise architecture and technology standards in partnership with the VP, ensuring coherence with broader digital and AI transformation initiatives.
  • Own strategic technology vendor and partner relationships across the order management, logistics, and supply chain ecosystem, including platform selection and long-term partnership strategy.
  • Represent the Order Management, DTC, and Logistics technology portfolio in executive and cross-functional forums, including direct engagement with senior business and technology leadership.

People Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing, multi-disciplinary organization spanning engineering, product, and platform teams, including onshore and offshore capability.
  • Directly manage a three-part organizational model: a core team based in El Segundo, CA / US, an offshore Global Capability Center in India, and a portfolio of strategic technology vendors and implementation partners — ensuring consistent delivery standards, clear accountability, and seamless collaboration across all three.
  • Own day-to-day and strategic vendor/partner management, including performance governance, contract and SOW oversight, and capacity planning across the vendor ecosystem supporting order management and logistics technology.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning, and develop leadership bench strength to support succession and future scope expansion.
  • Partner with the VP and broader IT leadership team to shape organizational design, talent strategy, and capability development across the order management and logistics technology portfolio.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, with significant, demonstrated ownership of order management, logistics, or DTC fulfillment platforms.
  • Proven track record leading Sr. Director-level or equivalent organizations, including full people leadership, budget ownership, and vendor management responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a blended organizational model spanning a domestic/US-based team, an offshore Global Capability Center, and external technology vendors/partners — with the ability to drive unified delivery across all three.
  • Deep expertise in order management systems (OMS), distribution and logistics operations, including WMS, TMS, and order orchestration platforms.
  • Strong command of cloud technologies and modern architecture patterns (ex. GCP), with experience embedding AI/ML capabilities into supply chain systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a strategic partner to senior operations and business leaders, translating ambiguity into clear, actionable technology strategy
  • Track record of delivering complex, large-scale technology transformations in fast-paced, matrixed, global organizations.
  • Executive-caliber communication, presence, and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to CTO/CSCO-level audiences
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
