For our Mattel office in Frankfurt, Germany, we are looking for a full-time Media Manager DACH (m/f/d).


The Opportunity:

The Media Manager will be a key member of the local Marketing team, leading the digital and media transformation across both the Marketing function and the wider DACH organization. The role is responsible for defining and executing the local media strategy within the global and regional framework, covering the full media landscape. It involves close collaboration with internal teams, retail partners, and agencies to strengthen Mattel’s media presence and drive business growth.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Drive Media and Digital Transformation
    Champion the media evolution of the local Marketing organization by leading upskilling initiatives, mentoring team members, and constructively challenging existing processes to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Strategic Market Leadership
    Define and execute a comprehensive media action plan and market priorities, ensuring alignment with the overarching European and Global Mattel strategic framework
  • Team Leadership and Development
    Lead, inspire, and develop the Media team to deliver excellence in execution and innovation across all media touchpoints
  • Global-to-Local Deployment
    Implement Global and Regional media capabilities and initiatives within the local market; identify operational or strategic gaps and design tailored plans that address specific local opportunities and consumer behaviors
  • Integrated Media Management
    Oversee the end-to-end media briefing process in close collaboration with Brand Managers, media agencies, and key media partners to ensure optimized investment and strategic alignment with brand and business objectives
  • Agency Partnership Excellence
    Serve as the lead liaison for all media agencies, ensuring performance excellence and strategic fit; proactively identify, evaluate, and onboard new agency partners where capability gaps or new opportunities arise
  • Innovation and Test & Learn Agenda
    Design and drive the local media “test and learn” roadmap, leading execution of pilot initiatives and sharing actionable insights and best practices across markets to accelerate digital maturity
  • Regional Collaboration
    Act as the key point of contact for regional media teams, ensuring alignment, knowledge sharing, and consistent execution of Mattel’s media strategy across markets

What We’re Looking For:

  • University degree in Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; a specialization or certification in Digital or Online Marketing is strongly preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in media, online marketing, digital media, or eCommerce/eRetail, ideally gained within FMCG, consumer goods, fashion, consumer electronics, or leading online retail organizations
  • Proven ability to influence senior leadership and foster a test-and-learn culture to drive continuous media innovation
  • Demonstrated success in managing and executing media strategies across multiple brands, categories, or audience segments
  • Minimum 2 years of team leadership experience, with a track record of developing and empowering high-performing teams
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word); familiarity with digital analytics and eCommerce tools is an advantage
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional European languages are a plus

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, effectively managing multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with robust time and project management abilities
