Job Title: iSeries AS400 Developer - Manufacturing Supply Chain
Location: Hyderabad, India
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive iSeries Developer to provide application support for our manufacturing systems running on the AS/400 platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RPG (RPGLE/CLLE) programming, production support, and troubleshooting in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role involves maintaining legacy systems, ensuring uptime for business-critical applications, and working closely with operations, supply chain, and IT teams to support end-to-end business processes. The candidate must be willing to work on site 4 days a week in Hyderabad, overlapping China time zone hours
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day application support for iSeries-based systems used in manufacturing operations.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve issues related to RPGLE/CL, job failures, data anomalies, and performance concerns.
- Support production, planning, inventory, procurement, and logistics modules as part of the manufacturing IT ecosystem.
- Modify and enhance existing iSeries applications based on user requirements and business process changes.
- Monitor batch jobs and system health, proactively resolving issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, plant personnel, and cross-functional teams to identify and address system issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident management procedures.
- Maintain and create technical documentation for code changes, support procedures, and system configurations.
- Assist in data extraction, integration, and reporting for operational and decision-making needs.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in iSeries (AS/400) development and support.
- Proficiency in RPG (RPGLE, Free RPG), CL, and CLLE programming.
- Solid understanding of IBM DB2/400, including SQL queries and file structures.
- Experience supporting manufacturing or supply chain applications on iSeries.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Familiarity with job scheduling tools and batch processing in iSeries environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Cultural Awareness: Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and manage teams across different time zones.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing execution systems (MES), shop floor systems, or ERP integration.
- Knowledge of EDI processes, barcode/labeling systems, or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with modernization tools or approaches for legacy iSeries applications.
- Exposure to ticketing and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy).
