Job Title: Total Rewards Specialist – India
Location: Hyderabad
Role Purpose
The Total Rewards Specialist supports the implementation, administration, governance, and continuous improvement of compensation and benefits programs onsite for the Mattel Technology & Innovation Center (MTIC). This role partners closely with Global Compensation and Benefits teams, Finance, People & Culture (P&C), and business leaders to ensure local reward programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with Mattel's Total Rewards philosophy.
Serving as the primary local Total Rewards resource for MTIC, the Specialist provides market insights, compensation analysis, and benefits recommendations that enhance talent attraction, retention, and employee engagement. The role also supports leader and employee transparency and understanding of Mattel's Total Rewards offerings through effective communication and education initiatives while ensuring local programs remain aligned with global frameworks and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation
- Support the implementation and ongoing administration of global compensation programs, policies, and processes within MTIC.
- Conduct market benchmarking, compensation analyses, and trend reviews to provide insights that support talent attraction, retention, and workforce decisions .
- Provide local market insights and input related to salary structures, pay positioning, incentive programs, and emerging market trends.
- Support annual compensation planning activities, including merit increases, promotions, and incentive cycles.
- Prepare compensation reporting and workforce cost analyses.
Benefits
- Support the implementation, administration, and ongoing management of employee benefits programs in alignment with Mattel’s Total Rewards philosophy and local market requirements.
- Conduct market benchmarking and analyze employee feedback, utilization trends and emerging practices to assess program competitiveness and recommend enhancements.
- Partner with external vendors, brokers, and consultants to support effective program delivery and administration.
- Monitor benefits program performance and support the design and implementation of program improvements that address employee and business needs.
- Support employee education, [enrollment activities,] and communications that enhance understanding and utilization of benefits offerings.
Workforce Planning & Financial Analysis
- Support workforce planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
- Develop workforce cost assumptions, headcount analyses, and related reporting to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Partner with Finance on compensation and benefits cost modeling.
Communication & Employee Engagement
- Develop employee-facing materials and presentations.
- Partner with P&C, Communications, and business leaders to develop and deliver communication and education initiatives that increase employee understanding of Total Rewards programs.
- Assist with employee information sessions, enrollment activities, and awareness campaigns.
- Gather employee feedback and insights to support continuous improvement of Total Rewards programs .
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compensation and benefits programs comply with local labor regulations and Mattel policies.
- Maintain documentation, governance processes, and controls related to Total Rewards programs.
- Support pay equity analyses, audits, and compliance reviews as needed.
- Monitor regulatory and market developments that may impact compensation and benefits programs.
Stakeholder Partnership
- Serve as the primary local Total Rewards resource and point of contact for MTIC.
- Partner closely with local P&C leaders, P&C Business Partners, Finance, and business leaders to support Total Rewards programs and initiatives.
- Provide local market insights and support implementation of global programs.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting a Global Capability Center (GCC), technology organization, or shared services environment.
- Experience working with external benefits brokers, consultants, and vendors.
- Experience supporting employee communication and engagement initiatives related to Total Rewards.

What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in Compensation, Benefits, or Total Rewards, preferably within multinational matrixed, or fast-growing organizations.
- Knowledge of India compensation, benefits, and other rewards practices and regulatory requirements.
- Experience supporting compensation planning, market benchmarking, and rewards program administration.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems.
- Strong communication, analytical, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to translate complex reward concepts into practical employee and business solutions.
