The Training Supervisor – DTC Operations works in a fast-paced e-commerce distribution environment and is responsible for coordinating, directing, and supervising the training function for Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) operations. This role partners closely with Operations leadership to ensure warehouse employees are properly trained to meet or exceed productivity, quality, accuracy, and safety standards across DTC functions

  • Supervises, directs, and coaches warehouse trainers, leads, and DTC associates.
  • Coordinates and manages training schedules, onboarding activities, cross-training initiatives, and workflow for assigned employees.
  • Partners with Operations leadership to identify training needs and ensure staffing readiness to support daily DTC volume and service level expectations.
  • Facilitates new hire orientation, equipment certification, process training, and ongoing development for warehouse employees.
  • Ensures employees understand and consistently follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality expectations, and safety requirements.
  • Monitors employee performance during and after training, providing coaching and feedback to improve productivity, quality, and accuracy.
  • Maintains training records, certifications, and documentation to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilizes warehouse management systems (WMS), spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools to track training progress and support workforce planning.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives by identifying training gaps and recommending process improvements.
  • Partners with Human Resources and Operations Management to address employee performance, development, and training-related concerns.
  • Ensures compliance with all Mattel policies, procedures, safety guidelines, and operational standards.
  • Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned by Distribution Center Management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises employees engaged in DTC warehouse operations in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Coaching, training, and developing employees
    • Planning, assigning, and directing work
    • Monitoring productivity and quality expectations
    • Conducting performance evaluations
    • Recognizing and addressing performance issues
    • Assisting with interviewing and hiring efforts
    • Resolving employee concerns and partnering with HR on employee relations matters

Flexibility and teamwork are essential to this role. Employees may be required to perform duties outside those listed above to support business needs, staffing requirements, or cross-functional training initiatives.


  • Five or more years of leadership experience in a warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, or e-commerce environment.
  • Experience leading employee training, onboarding, coaching, and development programs preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); AS/400 experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with employees, trainers, leads, supervisors, managers, and cross-functional business partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information and facilitate group training.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational reports and performance metrics.
  • Strong mathematical skills with the ability to calculate percentages, productivity, labor, and operational metrics.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, including forklifts and powered industrial vehicles, airborne particles generated by warehouse equipment, and varying weather conditions due to open dock doors throughout the year. The position requires regular walking throughout the distribution center and occasional lifting, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.

This role supports a fast-paced Direct-to-Consumer fulfillment operation and may require flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or adjusted schedules during peak business periods.
