The Opportunity: 

We are seeking a talented and driven Data Scientist to join our dynamic Supply Chain Analytics team in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will leverage your innovation and analytical expertise to revolutionize supply chain operations through data-driven insights and advanced technology. You will design and implement cutting-edge analytics solutions, develop predictive and prescriptive models, and lead end-to-end optimization efforts across the supply chain. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will transform complex data into actionable strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve decision-making. Works independently and receives some guidance.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Create and deploy predictive, prescriptive, and machine learning models to address supply chain challenges, including demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and overall planning.
  • Develop SQL/Python code and data models which support the strategic goals of Mattel’s Supply Chain organization
  • Use advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in supply chain data.
  • Partner with supply chain teams to understand challenges and opportunities, translating business requirements into advanced analytics deliverables.
  • Analyze, report and present data driven solutions back to the organization to solve business problems and improve or redesign processes.
  • Regularly assess the performance of deployed models and analytics solutions, iterating and refining as necessary to maintain accuracy and relevance.

 


What We’re Looking For: 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.

Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on Python experience is required.
  • Experience using Python libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, or similar packages for advanced analytics and data science.
  • SQL is nice to have.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development tools, such as Codex, LLM-based tools, Google AI, or Gemini, to support and accelerate code development.

Experience

  • At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in Data Analytics, Data Science, or a related analytics role.
  • Experience managing, validating, and improving data quality.
  • Supply chain industry/domain knowledge is nice to have, but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Presentation and report-writing skills are nice to have.
