Job Summary
This position Product Quality Engineer is supporting Dolls QE team (may cover Barbie, Disney, Monster High, Polly Pocket, Kpop, etc. dolls brand), will report to Kitty Li (Assoc Manager- MOA & MVN Dolls Product Quality Engineering).
This role will support design and development (D&D) team to develop new products, follow up customer feedback, product improvement and so on, to ensure product in good quality and safe to play by our customer, working place is China- Shenzhen MSC.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice to D&D team and vendors for quality related issues.
- Create product specifications and review requirements with lab and/or vendor QE for alignment.
- Perform hazardous analysis and cooperate with D&D team to ensure product can meet regulatory and Mattel’s requirements.
- Follow up lab testing results and corrective action plan.
- Follow up customer feedback, complaints, returns, and improvement act with D&D team.
- Coordinate technical documents for supporting shipment and issue shipment release notice.
- Provide case sharing or training for working teams (e.g. PE, design, PKG, vendor) if needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Materials, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field)
- 2-5 years of experience in quality engineering, product development, internal labs and/or third-party testing laboratories or manufacturing (toy or consumer products industry preferred)
- Knowledge of global toy safety standards and regulations (ASTM F963, CPSIA, EN71, ISO, etc.)
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes (e.g., plastics, textiles, electronics, packaging) and risk management and root cause analysis tools (FMEA, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with statistical tools (e.g., Minitab) preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
