The Team

Sitting within the EMEA Consumer Products Organisation, who are responsible for providing  leadership and direction for the development and implementation of Consumer Products strategy across all Mattel Brands.  This team is responsible for steering and achieving key brand, category and fiscal objectives by identifying and collaborating with Global, Regional, Multi Territory and Local licensees. We work in partnership across the business with the Global Consumer Products, Regional Franchise, Local Brand, Regional Marketing, and Regional Product Development teams, as well as with the Audit, Finance and Legal Divisions.

The Opportunity

You’ll be joining the Consumer Products team in a role for the CEE markets (Poland, Czechia, Slovakia & Hungary). Based out of our Polish office in Warsaw, you’ll report directly to the Head of Consumer Products for CEE.

In this role you will manage the day-to-day licensing business relationships in the CEE countries covering all Sotflines partners & promotional deals, delivering all aspects of CEE partner management. You will identify, pitch and negotiate new business opportunities, and day to day liaison with internal & external stakeholders. You will lead CEE SL retail strategy and build relationships and programs with leading retailers.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Deliver the Consumer Product EMEA strategy in CEE
  • Research, identify and pitch new category opportunities and prospective clients.
  • Secure new licensing deals and negotiate renewals.
  • Attend industry Trade Fairs or category specific shows.
  • Work closely with local marketing/sales teams to identify opportunities to create and maintain excellent partnerships with licensees.
  • Negotiate and monitor licensing contracts in CEE.
  • Define and monitor for each partner: forecasts, budget, sales targets, product development and time-to-market schedules.
  • Provide and ensure for each partner a detailed marketing plan that includes licensee investment and is aligned with Mattel's Consumer Product business objectives. Provide marketing support for flagship products.
  • Manage extension of local deals into additional EMEA countries.
  • Analyze CP activity and make recommendations to achieve defined objectives.
  • Maintain a competitive watch on derivative product trends.
  • Work closely with product development, creative, quality and assurance teams to bring first-rate products to market.
  • Work closely with sales, digital, PR, regional franchise and local brand teams to develop joint business plans.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong knowledge of Polish retail market; knowledge of Czech, Sloviakian or Hungarian market will be additional advantage.

  • Fluency in Polish & English (verbal and written)

 

Diplomas and experience

  • Degree in marketing, sales, business administration (Bachelor/Master/Diploma) or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 3 years' sales/marketing experience in consumer goods, licensed consumer goods, toys, fashion or FMCG.
  • Experience working within Consumer Products, brand marketing for a Licensor, or experience working with Licensors (preferably in the children’s entertainment sector) also an advantage
  • Prior experience as Category Lead, Account Management or Buyer (with knowledge of Retail/Licensing/Partner distribution) also considered
