The Team:

The Mattel Global Creative Team provides dedicated design guidance and creative feedback throughout the product development and approval process, supporting licensed products across Mattel brands worldwide.


The Opportunity: 

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Designer to join our Global Creative team, supporting DTR accounts across EMEA. In this role you will lead the design process, deliver innovative and trend-led design solutions, and ensure Mattel brands are translated into trend led & brand appropriate collections across Softlines and Hardlines categories.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Partner with regional commercial team to pitch current and prospective partners across EMEA
  • Research and analyze current fashion, social and consumer trends as well as competitor offerings across the EMEA region to inform design direction
  • Create inspiration mood boards and pitches with product, color and print direction
  • Create new style guide directions & toolkits
  • Lead the design process from concept development to final product, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and market trends
  • Translate Mattel’s style guides, assets and IP into compelling product concepts
  • Manage product development and approvals process.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and cross-functional teams to ensure strong alignment and on-brand execution.

What We’re Looking For: 

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in licensing, with strong exposure to Softlines, particularly fast fashion and ladieswear.
  • Knowledge of home wear and hardlines & accessories.
  • Solid graphic and product design experience, ideally within fashion or consumer products.
  • Experience working with brand style guides and assets, with the ability to translate them into commercially relevant product concepts.
  • Degree in Graphic/ Product Design or Art related disciplines
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and committed to excellence.
  • Strong awareness of consumer, digital and fashion trends.
  • Able to demonstrate a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves
