The Team:

Mattel’s Integrated Marketing Communications Team is responsible for driving best-in-class strategic and creative thought leadership in the development and execution of best-in-class global marketing campaigns, activations and assets that consistently communicate the distinct and powerful identity of the Mattel IP across all internal and external touchpoints.


The Opportunity: 

We are looking for a Sr Account Manager to lead a multi-disciplined account team across traditional and digital account services and creative strategy across multiple lines of business. 

What Your Impact Will Be: 

Account Management – 70%

  • Leads audience-focused (kid or adult/shopper) or content and digital – led marketing initiatives within IMC and in collaboration with Global Marketing, to drive strategic thought leadership across these integrated marketing communications and acts as a catalyst to inspire and unlock breakthrough work.
  • Leads development of franchise tentpoles that will consist of cross-category promotions, collaborations and activations.
  • Drive workstream for Kid Demand Creation and entertainment content IMC. Manage the annual planning process and act as the main point of contact representing IMC by coordinating with various teams to ensure timely delivery of demand creation and content aligned with key campaigns and objectives.
  • Collaborates with Marketing to ensure clarity of understanding, clear prioritization and required inputs of Marketing briefs for assigned programs to intake into the pod via aligned and approved SLAs.
  • Crafts and oversees development of inspirational creative briefs for specific audiences and platforms that springboard creative development with rich, consumer-centric, idea-led territories that ignite cross-functional collaboration and ideation, including potential insights/narratives for adult collector collaborations.
  • Leads brainstorms and ideation sprints, in collaboration with relevant cross-functional partners, that yield actionable ideas to pursue.
  • Manages strategic and creative direction for external agency partners and vendors to ensure clarity and consistency of direction, efficiency and effectiveness of resources and, ultimately, ensure outcome meets business needs.
  • Develops annual/seasonal tentpole programs, such as retail programs, content-led activations, etc.
  • Leads development of regular updates to Senior and Executive leadership on project progress.
  • Partners with Marketing, Project Management and Production team on all projects to ensure work meets business objectives, is on time and on budget.
  • Galvanizes cross functional team to nurture and amplify ideas, big and small.

Communications Strategy – 30%

  • Participates in category and ecommerce long-range planning to provide marketing communications expertise to drive business goals.
  • Collaborates daily with brand and product marketing and ecommerce teams to maintain thorough understanding of the business, influencing and being influenced by current market, category and brand dynamics.
  • Leads development and presentation of creative strategy and organizing idea to global markets and commercial teams for feedback and alignment at key stages of development, including pan-brand shopper campaigns.

What We’re Looking For:

 

  • 8+ years in marketing, advertising, operations, or program management leading cross-functional teams
  • Strategic thought leader with ability to understand business pain points from Executive team and Key Stakeholders across all functions
  • Highly analytical and creative mind with ability to distill complex concepts and ideas into succinct solutions
  • Depth of understanding of industry, category, and media landscape
  • Strong interpersonal skills that encourage cooperation and problem solving
  • Possess a growth mindset, positive attitude and a passion to succeed in a fast-paced, matrixed organization

The annual base salary range for this position is between $140,000 and $170,000
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
