The Team:

The Mattel Global Franchise Creative team focuses on creative direction and asset development for pitches, style guides, and informs licensing development around the world for Mattel brands.


The Opportunity: 

The Global Sr. Manager is responsible for overall creative direction for Mattel’s Infant Preschool Properties within Franchise/Consumer Products. The Sr. Manager is immersed in future trends, current state of the business, and the future of the brand. This role collaborates within the department and company to establish global, relevant and brand-right creative strategies and materials needed to support the business. The Global Sr. Manager must be able to work with external partners and be a wealth of creativity while maintaining the brand. The Global Sr. Manager manages the creative team and is the CP brand lead globally, working across the world to ensure consistency and support across all aspects of consumer product development. This is a fast-paced, visible role that needs an extremely high level of creativity and taste, excellent prioritization, organizational and collaboration/communication skills.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

Sr. Manager is responsible for the below at a high level:

  • Brand creative responsibility across tentpoles, campaigns, and other marketing moments
  • Oversee and direct Style guides and all other CP/Franchise creative
  • Oversee global category toolkits and inspiration based on brand vision
  • Always up to date on current and emerging fashion and consumer trends and able to curate/apply to multiple brands
  • Global pitch development
  • Provide creative strategic direction and support to priority global licensees/programs
  • Partner with Product Approval team to provide marcom and creative support for priority licensees
  • Support Halo programs/collaborations with design direction
  • Partner with cross functional creative teams to ensure creative consistency
  • Partner with Product approval team on priority licensee line execution
  • Partner with other internal creative teams on key category/program development to ensure creative consistency
  • Lead team brainstorm sessions (as well as cross-functional sessions) for new product development and innovation.
  • Partner with all relevant stakeholders on creative guide development
  • Able to Art direct any character art and key art where needed
  • Ensure all assets created are technically excellent and compatible to their intended use
  • Leading, mentoring and developing their team

What We’re Looking For:

  • 8-10 years professional experience, including 2+ as a manager
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong design excellence and superior problem solving
  • Licensing, Product and Fashion design experience: kids and adult
  • Skilled in Graphic Design, pitch creation and presentation
  • Advanced skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and Power point (InDesign is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of colors, materials and finishes
  • Able to Draw and sketch as well as verbally communicate ideas
  • Knowledge of hard, softlines manufacturing processes
  • Understanding of Character Art and Key art needs
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent presentation skills required
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Excellent Collaborator and partner
  • Ability to delegate, coach and develop a creative team
  • Strong and impactful team leader

The annual base salary range for this position is between $145,600 and $182,000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
