The Team:
The Global Sales and Operations Planning team is a high-impact team that plays an integral role in managing and driving the overall end-to-end S&OP process. We are responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of S&OP framework and maturity. This aligns commercial strategies with operational execution to meet market demands, financial goals, and customer expectations.
Through a series of S&OP meetings, this process at Mattel is a key enabler to improve portfolio efficiency, balance demand and supply, link strategy to execution, and make the right decisions both effectively and timely to ensure profitable growth. The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr Manager based out of our El Segundo office to join the Global Supply Chain Sales & Operations Planning team. This role will report into our Sr Director of Global S&OP, MDM, and Planning Transformation.
You will be responsible for helping facilitate the monthly S&OP cycle. This includes a specialized focus on driving the Regional Demand Reviews, while also supporting and providing insights for the Portfolio and Supply Management Reviews. Furthermore, there will be close integration to support all Executive Reviews throughout the S&OP cycle.
In this role, you can expect significant cross-functional interactions, serving as a central connector between Supply Chain teams including Demand and Supply Planning, Brand Marketing, Commercial, Finance, as well as Analytics and IT. The ideal candidate will have a keen focus on linking organizational strategy to execution, both further refining as well as leveraging existing S&OP and Analytics platforms and Business Intelligence tools to help drive insights into action.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Facilitate the overall monthly S&OP cycle with a specific focus on leading Regional Demand Management Reviews. This includes prep meetings and acting as central connector between Supply Chain, Commercial, Brand Marketing, Finance and IT/Analytics stakeholders.
- Support insights and story-telling for other parts of the S&OP cycle: including Portfolio, Supply, and Executive Management reviews.
- Utilize Business Intelligence and Reporting tools to monitor KPIs including Demand Gap-to-Target, POS Consumption trends, Forecasting Performance, Industry insights, as well as Inventory Health and Service levels.
- Communicate trade-offs, risks, and opportunities to manage escalations as they arise. Facilitate timely decision-making by leveraging insights to actions between cross-functional partners.
- Support on managing and tracking key promotions, new product introductions and major brand launches, aligning forecast assumptions with respective teams while managing any risk.
- Develop scenario Planning to evaluate impact of changes in demand or supply and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Promote a culture of collaboration across teams to help influence and drive continued S&OP Process maturity as well as supporting planning transformation initiatives aligning to organizational priorities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team supporting the Demand Reviews within S&OP cycle.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 6+ years experience in Supply Chain, Planning, Commercial Operations including 3+ years in an S&OP or IBP management role (interacting with cross-functional stakeholders and driving strategic alignment)
- Experience implementing S&OP Framework, strategies, and process improvement while managing a variety of stakeholders
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with and influence cross functional teams. Including ability to create impactful presentations for Executive teams and other partners.
- Proven ability working in fast-paced, deadline-driven and highly collaborative environment.
- Experience navigating highly seasonal business; ability to drive continued capability transformation leveraging process improvement, analytics and KPI dashboards
- Analytical, solution-oriented approach, ability to influence and achieve results. Position requires ability to apply critical thinking to dissimilar problems and deliver fact-supported recommendations
- Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude and proactive approach in managing key business stakeholders
- Open to travel when required to collaborate with regional teams
- Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
The annual base salary range for this position is between $140,000 and $170,000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
