The Opportunity:

Mattel Brick Shop is seeking a Product Development Engineer II to support the development of innovative construction toy products from concept through production. Working closely with Product Development, Design, Quality, Packaging, and Manufacturing teams, you will help ensure products meet requirements for quality, performance, manufacturability, and cost while supporting successful launches to market.

What Your Impact Will Be:

· Support the engineering development of construction toy products from concept through production launch.

· Coordinate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners throughout the development process.

· Assist in Engineering Pilot (EP) and Final Engineering Pilot (FEP) builds, helping to identify and resolve technical issues before production.

· Manage prototype and production sample builds, incorporating design, engineering, and quality feedback.

· Review engineering documentation, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy and completeness.

· Support tooling development, mold qualification, and production readiness activities.

· Track project milestones and follow up on action items to support on-time delivery.

· Partner with Quality and Manufacturing teams to support product approvals and production sign-off.

· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality, cost, and manufacturing efficiency.

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced product development environment

 


What We're Looking For:

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

· 2+ years of experience in product engineering, product development, building set development, or a related industry.

· Understanding of product development and manufacturing processes.

· Knowledge of plastic part design, tooling, and injection molding is preferred.

· Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering drawing/CAD tools.

· Fluent in both English and Spanish.

· Ability and willingness to travel internationally, including Asia, as required
