Job Title: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Administrator – Oracle Cloud Implementation

Position Summary
Be a part of an organization that is modernizing and transforming its IT platforms, processes, and skills to accelerate Mattel’s strategy to unlock a world of tech-enhanced 360-degree play experiences!
We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Administrator to manage, monitor, and optimize the OCI environment for a multi-pillar Oracle Cloud implementation. The role requires deep technical expertise across OCI services, security, networking, automation, and performance tuning, along with a strong understanding of integration points with Oracle Fusion Applications, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), and associated middleware platforms.
The OCI Administrator will be responsible for configuring and maintaining the entire OCI environment to support ERP and related integrations.
Key Responsibilities
1. OCI Environment Provisioning & Management
- Provision and manage OCI tenancies, compartments, and resource hierarchies to align with enterprise architecture and project deployment strategy.
- Configure Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, dynamic groups, and fine-grained access controls for different project teams (development, testing, production).
- Implement and maintain Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), subnets, route tables, internet/NAT gateways, DRG (Dynamic Routing Gateway), and FastConnect/VPN connectivity.
- Create and manage compute instances, block volumes, object storage buckets, file storage services, and Autonomous Databases.
2. Performance, Monitoring & Automation
- Implement OCI Monitoring, Alarms, and Logging to track CPU, memory, storage, and network utilization for compute and database resources.
- Use OCI Events, Functions, and Notifications to automate operational responses.
- Develop Terraform or Resource Manager scripts for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) provisioning and environment cloning.
- Optimize resource usage with autoscaling policies and reserved instance planning.
3. Security & Compliance
- Configure Security Lists and Network Security Groups (NSGs).
- Perform Vulnerability Scanning and patch management on OCI compute instances.
- Ensure data encryption at rest and in transit using OCI KMS.
- Monitor audit logs and generate compliance reports for governance and audit purposes.
4. Integration with Oracle Cloud Applications & Middleware
- Configure OIC connectivity agents in OCI for inbound/outbound integration with on-premise and third-party systems.
- Manage API Gateways, service endpoints, and allow-list configurations for secure integration flows.
- Work with integration teams to troubleshoot connectivity and network latency issues between OCI and Oracle Fusion environments.
- Coordinate with DBA teams for database performance tuning and cross-region replication for disaster recovery.
5. Backup, Recovery, and DR
- Implement OCI Backup Policies for compute and database resources.
- Configure Object Storage lifecycle policies for archival and cost optimization.
- Design and execute Disaster Recovery (DR) strategy using cross-region replication, failover, and failback procedures.
- Test and document RPO/RTO recovery scenarios.
6. Project Deployment & Lifecycle Support
- Assist with environment build-out for DEV, TEST, UAT, and PROD environments.
- Coordinate with functional and technical teams for cutover activities, including data migration, environment readiness, and performance validation.
- Manage release schedules for infrastructure changes aligned with the Oracle Cloud implementation plan.
- Provide support for root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents affecting OCI-hosted resources.
Required Technical Skills
- Deep knowledge of OCI core services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Databases, Security).
- Strong understanding of OCI Networking (VCN, DRG, FastConnect, VPN, NSGs, SLs).
- Proficiency in OCI IAM policy management.
- Hands-on with OCI Monitoring, Logging, Events, and Alarms.
- Experience managing OIC connectivity agents and integrations.
- Familiarity with Autonomous Database provisioning, tuning, and backup strategies.
- Expertise in Disaster Recovery design for Oracle workloads.
- Knowledge of WAF, OCI Load Balancer, and API Gateway configurations.
- Understanding of OCI security best practices and compliance frameworks.
Preferred Experience
- Previous role as an OCI Administrator or Cloud Engineer in an Oracle Cloud ERP implementation project.
- Knowledge of multi-cloud or hybrid architecture involving OCI or GCP.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning.
- Experience in cross-workstream coordination during large-scale Oracle Cloud cutovers.
- ITIL framework knowledge for incident/change management.

- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate (1Z0-1072)
