Job Title: License Analyst – Vendor Management
Location: Hyderabad, India
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Software Asset Management License Analyst in the Vendor Management Office. The Analyst plays a pivotal role in managing software and vendor licenses. This position is responsible for tracking, optimizing, and ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, ensuring the organization is operating within the terms of its software licenses and contracts. The License Analyst will work closely with the procurement, legal, IT, and finance teams to maintain accurate records, audit compliance, and facilitate vendor negotiations. The candidate must be willing to work on site 4 days a week in Hyderabad, during US EST time zone.
Key Responsibilities:
License Entitlement Management
- Maintain accurate records of software entitlements (contracts, purchases, and license keys).
- Upload and validate license data in SAM tools and license repositories.
- Normalize software titles and standardize license records.
Software Discovery & Usage Monitoring
- Analyze data from discovery tools (e.g., SCCM, Flexera, Snow) to understand actual software deployments.
- Reconcile deployment data against entitlements to determine compliance position.
Software Asset Optimization:
- Analyze software usage trends and provide recommendations for cost optimization or consolidation of licenses.
- Identify opportunities for leveraging volume discounts or special offers from vendors based on the organization's usage patterns.
- Work with IT and other departments to ensure proper allocation and usage of licenses across different business units.
- Work with IT and other departments to determine and review if existing product sets match requirements or if there are cost effective alternatives
Risk Mitigation & Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed about industry trends, licensing models, and software licensing policies.
- Participate in developing and maintaining internal processes and policies related to license management and vendor relations.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to licensing agreements or vendor performance.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in software asset management, license management, or vendor management.
- Familiarity with software license types (perpetual, subscription, SaaS, etc.) and licensing models.
- Experience working with software asset management (SAM) tools or vendor management platforms is a plus.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to track, audit, and interpret software license data.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to manage contracts, compliance, and licensing records accurately.
- Negotiation Skills: Capable of negotiating software agreements and ensuring terms are aligned with the organization’s needs and budget.
- Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills to track multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across different departments and with vendors.
- Knowledge of Licensing Tools: Proficiency in SAM tools like ServiceNow, Flexera, or other software management platforms is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with license management tools (e.g., Snow License Manager, Flexera).
- Basic understanding of software and IT infrastructure (e.g., SaaS, Cloud, On-Premise licensing models).
Collaboration: Ability to work with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
Problem-Solving: Creative and proactive in identifying challenges and proposing solutions.
Customer-Focused: Strong focus on vendor and stakeholder satisfaction.
Time Management: Effective at managing multiple tasks and priorities.

Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, or equivalent.
• 10 years of experience in SAM/ITAM operations, with at least 5 years in supervisory or lead role.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM, Flexera One, and Nexthink.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with global software licensing models and audit processes.
Preferred
• Certifications such as CSAM, ITAM Foundation, or ITIL v4.
• Experience working in a global enterprise or managed service environment.
• Exposure to automation tools or Power BI for reporting.
