Mattel's Human Rights program aims to build stakeholder trust and ensure business continuity by embedding respect for human rights stewardship throughout our value chain. We implement company-wide standards, including our Responsible Supply Chain Commitment and Human Rights Principles, and are dedicated to continuously improving our due diligence processes.
The Opportunity:
As the Senior Manager, Human Rights Due Diligence, your focus will be on risk management within Mattel's Worldwide Operations. This role ensures respect for workers' rights across Mattel's supply chain and operations by upholding and implementing Mattel’s policies and standards.
You will engage cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to identify and mitigate human rights risks within Mattel's global supply chain. Responsibilities include deploying effective communications and tools to diverse stakeholders, developing robust operational mechanisms, and creating clear standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure adherence to Mattel policies and standards.
This role demands strong communication, attention to detail, project management skills, and the ability to handle day-to-day issues while strategically planning for long-term improvements. Proven experience managing complex, time-sensitive issues and a genuine passion for social and human rights are essential.

What Your Impact Will Be:
- Lead Human Rights Impact Assessments (HRIAs) and associated due diligence activities, particularly those driven by emerging regulatory requirements
- Analyze human rights data to identify trends, assess risks, and uncover opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate effectively with Mattel business units, corporate functions globally, third-party service providers, and production factories/facilities
- Drive program enhancements and measurable process improvements by working proactively with cross-functional teams
- Represent Mattel and engage in relevant partnerships with industry associations and multi-stakeholder initiatives
- Develop, refine, and manage project management processes, prioritizing the use of technology and automation for efficiency
- Develop and manage reporting mechanisms on program status, risks, and impact
What We’re Looking For:
- 8+ years of experience in compliance, audit, risk management, or a related field with a focus on social and/or human rights issues
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and make timely decisions in complex situations
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
- Experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Extensive senior-level experience managing programs related to human rights, labor rights, responsible sourcing, multi-stakeholder initiatives, international development, or corporate social responsibility (CSR)
- Proficiency in multiple languages (bilingual or multilingual capability is a strong asset)
