CREATIVITY IS OUR SUPERPOWER. It’s our heritage and it’s also our future. Because we don’t just make toys. We create innovative products and experiences that inspire fans, entertain audiences and develop children through play. Mattel is at its best when every member of our team feels respected, included, and heard—when everyone can show up as themselves and do their best work every day. We value and share an infinite range of ideas and voices that evolve and broaden our perspectives with a reach that extends into all our brands, partners, and suppliers.

The Opportunity:

Mattel is seeking an Associate Manager or Manager, Supply Chain Governance, Risk Management & Compliance, Mattel Ventures, to serve as the Singapore based regional compliance partner for Mattel Ventures supplier, factory, licensee, and business partner activity.

This hands on individual contributor role will partner closely with Mattel Ventures leaders and regional teams to support early due diligence, supplier onboarding, audit readiness, compliance monitoring, responsible sourcing initiatives, and risk based decision support in a fast moving innovation environment.

The successful candidate will operate with a venture mindset: structure ambiguity quickly, build fit for purpose compliance pathways, use data to identify risk, and enable speed to market while upholding Mattel standards for responsible sourcing, regulatory compliance, human rights, EHS, labor practices, and supply chain integrity.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Serve as the regional GRC partner for Mattel Ventures, embedding supply chain compliance due diligence into concept development, sourcing, supplier onboarding, production planning, launch readiness, and post launch monitoring.
  • Lead compliance support for third party manufacturers, licensee factories, suppliers, vendors, and business partners in assigned regions, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, Mattel standards, and applicable industry or customer codes.
  • Collect supplier compliance data, review and analyze audit reports and supporting documentation, and coordinate Mattel initiated third party audits when needed.
  • Assess compliance risk for new supplier models, emerging materials, new geographies, licensing activity, and venture partnerships, translating findings into clear mitigation plans and timely escalation.
  • Analyze cross business unit compliance performance, identify trends, and provide data driven recommendations that help leadership understand risk, readiness, and improvement priorities.
  • Serve as a compliance consultant to Mattel Ventures and functional partners, including Global Brand Team, Ecommerce, Contract Manufacturing, Consumer Products, Sustainability, Global Supply Chain, Quality, Legal, and regional commercial teams.
  • Communicate compliance standards, expectations, and requirements to factories, licensees, suppliers, business units, and functional teams, ensuring timely closure of gaps and practical alignment with business needs.
  • Partner with data teams to interpret compliance information, organize reporting, analyze results, identify trends, and create ongoing status updates for management and stakeholders.
  • Support Responsible Sourcing and human rights initiatives, including source traceability, supply chain mapping, human rights assessments, social compliance reviews, and related improvement actions.
  • Manage relationships with third party firms engaged for compliance audits, responsible sourcing initiatives, or other GRC related projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and follow through.
  • Engage and educate factories, licensees, and business partners to strengthen self monitoring, preventive controls, corrective action discipline, and sustained compliance ownership.
  • Lead or support priority projects assigned by management, especially where Mattel Ventures requires rapid compliance assessment, risk mitigation, or new operating mechanisms to support speed to market.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experienced supply chain compliance professional with strong judgment, business partnership skills, and the ability to balance innovation speed with responsible sourcing and compliance discipline.
  • Venture oriented mindset with comfort operating in ambiguity, building structure quickly, and designing practical compliance pathways when standard processes do not fully address a new business model.
  • Sound knowledge of EHS, labor practices, human rights, responsible sourcing, supplier due diligence, factory compliance, and supply chain risk management.
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to review audit findings, interpret compliance data, identify trends, and convert insights into clear recommendations and action plans.
  • Ability to influence cross functional teams, suppliers, factories, licensees, and external partners without direct authority across a regional and global operating model.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, leadership, suppliers, and external partners.
  • Strong organizational, follow up, research, and project management skills, with the discipline to manage multiple priorities and close actions in a timely manner.
  • High integrity, cultural sensitivity, resilience, and accountability, with a collaborative style and a clear commitment to protecting Mattel standards and reputation.

Experience, Education, and Skills:

  • University degree preferred in supply chain, business, sustainability, compliance, EHS, engineering, social sciences, or a related discipline.
  • 5 plus years of progressive experience in supply chain compliance, responsible sourcing, human rights, manufacturing compliance, audit management, risk management, or a related field, preferably with a multinational manufacturing or consumer products company.
  • Knowledge or experience in Quality Management Systems, EHS Management Systems, risk management, corrective action management, supplier due diligence, and third party audit programs is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and comfort working with compliance data, reporting tools, dashboards, and management updates.
  • Proficient written and spoken English required. Mandarin, Cantonese, or Southeast Asian language capability is a plus. Ability to travel to Mattel and business partner facilities worldwide as business needs require. Candidates with more experience may be considered for Manager level.
