Job Summary
The .NET System Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, and supporting business applications built on the .NET platform. This role serves as a bridge between business stakeholders, business analysts, and technical teams, ensuring requirements are effectively translated into system solutions. The analyst will work on application development, production support, and continuous improvements, ensuring applications meet business needs, performance expectations, and compliance standards
Key Responsibilities
Requirement Analysis & Stakeholder Management
- Translate business requirements into system specifications, use cases, and process flows
- Conduct impact analysis for system changes and enhancements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define priorities and business solutions
- Design system architecture
System Design and Documentation
- Document functional specifications (FS), technical specifications (TS), and solution design.
- Design system workflows, APIs, and integration points for. NET-based applications
- Ensure system designs are scalable, maintainable, and designed with enterprise standards.
- Review technical designs and ensure alignment with requirements
Application Development support
- Work closely with developers on .NET (C#, ASPNET, .NET Core)
- Guide development, testing, and deployment phases.
- Assist in code reviews and solution validation when necessary
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Define test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria based on requirements.
- Support SIT (System integration test) and UAT (User acceptance testing)
- Validate functionality and ensure it meets business expectations.
- Coordinate defect tracking and resolution with development teams.
Production support and enhancement
- Provide L2/L3 production support for .NET applications.
- Analyze and troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA).
- Support application releases, patches, and enhancements.
- Work proactively to identify improvement opportunities and reduce recurring issues.
Governance, Compliance & Best Practices
- Ensure adherence to SDLC, ITIL, and change management processes.
- Follow security, audit, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain proper version control and documentation standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in .NET / C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, and web services (REST, SOAP).
- Hands-on experience with IIS, Web application development, and Windows Application Development.
- Strong SQL skills with SQL Server (querying, performance tuning, troubleshooting).
- Experience with logging and monitoring tools.
- Experience with ITIL, ServiceNow, or any ticketing system process
- Experience supporting high-volume, business-critical applications, e.g., EDI
Analytical & Functional Skills
- Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills
- Ability to convert business needs into technical specifications
Soft Skills
- Ability to work under pressure in high-availability production environments (supporting manufacturing plants with an expected shorter resolution time)
- Strong communication and presentation skills with end users and business stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
Education / Experience
- Degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Min 5 years of experience in .NET/web application development or support area
- Understanding of manufacturing back office, shop floor operation, and trading companies’ operation is value added
- Eager to work on-call or non-standard hours (Asia time zone) whenever necessary
- Eager to travel occasionally as required
